The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by Thomas S. Kuhn

ree

What it is about:

A classic. Absolute must read about how knowledge is created, communicated and accepted in societies and communities. It is a tour de force of historical analysis and insight.

Why it changed my thinking:

Realizing that science, and knowledge in general, is not a linear, predictable process, and one it is inextricably tied to people interactions was a key step in maturing as a technology manager. Where Thomas Kuhn looks at the really big picture, the insights he proposes apply equally well to the evolution and change of technologies, essential to be a responsible engineer and executive in technology.
